Poriadne dramatický súboj priniesla v sobotu anglická Premier League na štadióne King Power Stadium, kde domáci Leicester City otočil nepriaznivý vývoj s Tottenhamom Hotspur. Pritom to vyzeralo úplne inak. Domáci prehrávali po úvodnom dejstve, keď skóre duelu otvoril v 29. minúte Harry Kane. V 64. minúte potom pridal gólovú poistku Serge Aurier, ktorého gól ale rozhodcovia po kontrole systémom VAR neuznali pre milimetrové postavenie mimo hry, čo vyvolalo v hosťujúcom tábore búrku nevôle. Krutý ortieľ kohútov sa začal napĺňať už o päť minút neskôr, keď v 69. minúte vyrovnal Ricardo Pereira a v 85. minúte rozhodol o výhre Leicestru ďalekonosnou strelou James Maddison a definitívne poslal Tottenham na kolená.

Am in favour of VAR. Technology is a positive addition to cut out mistakes where possible, but while so many things aren't checked or overturned, this is given as offside. Farcical and goes completely against the spirit of the law... https://t.co/UFKZRwwrzl

Let me be clear of what I’m saying. VAR was introduced to correct CLEAR errors by refs, not for half a centimeter offsides.

I love how VAR can't overturn horrific decisions like when Lascelles literally dived on the floor and wiped out Kane in the box but will spend five minutes drawing dotted lines and rule Son offside.
