Austrian Bundesliga Preview: Matchday 2
The Austrian Bundesliga kicked off last week. We are catching up with the top league of the Austrian football this weekend with previews on all matchday 2 games.
Rapid Vienna - Wiener Neustadt
Rapid entered the new season in the worst possible way, being defeated from Wacker Innsbruck by 4-0. They played really awfully, players looked very tired and couldn't create any scoring chances at all. On the other hand, Neustadt performed really great despite the fact that they lost some key players during the summer transfer market, smashing Linz by 5-0 (they won four penalties!). Rapid is much better a team than Neustadt, this is a fact. However, they showed that they have many defensive problems, so I suggest you avoid betting on the home win (the odds are very low and there is no value at all) and bet on the over 2.5 at 1.75 or over 3.5 goals at 2.75 at Bet365.
LASK Linz - Austria Vienna
Linz started the new season witha heavy defeat. They were beaten 5-0 by Neustadt by, conceding all five goals in the first half. Neustadt won four penalty kicks (!) and also Linzer played with nine players for more than a half. Their fans jumped in the pitch and attacked the coach (Helmut Kraft) and some players. Finally, the match ended up with the same score (5-0), as Neustadt stopped attacking for the remaining minutes. Austria Wien started well, taking the three points against Mattersburg and they certainly want to double their wins tonight. They have much better team, they create many scoring chances and they can escape with the three points tonight. Away win for Austria at 1.80 at Bet365.
Mattersburg - Ried
Mattersburg made a mediocre start in the season, as they were easily defeated from Austria Wien (despite the fact that the first goal that they conceeded should have not counted, as the ball had never passed the goal line). They have a team that will fight for a mid-table position (last year they finished at 6th position). On the other hand, Ried played really bad against Sturm, as the team from Graz dominated the field and scored three goals against them. History between two teams shows that many goals are scored on their fixtures (eight of their last eleven matches ended up with over 2.5 goals) and I expect something similar tonight, as both teams want to prove they can do better than their unfortunate first game! My suggestion is over 2.5 goals which is offered at 1.90 at Bet365.
RB Salzburg - FC Wacker Tirol
Salzburg failed to score against Kapfenberg and as a result, their first match this new season ended up with no goals (0-0). Huub Stevens's team also qualified for the next qualifying round of Champions League and they want to collect their first three points in Bundesliga against the team that surprised us all at their first match. Wacker is back and they proven that with the best way. They are a team with great history in Austria, and they showed that still remain at high level, smashing Rapid Wien by 4-0, hitting many times at the counter attack. Tonight's match won't be easy for the Champions, as Wacker can score on the counter attack. It is very possible many goals are scored here, so I will bet on over 3 goals. My suggestion is again over 2.5 goals which is offered at 1.70 at Bet365, or even over 3.5 at 2.62.
