Premiership: Blues medical for Derbyshire
Former Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire is reportedly undergoing a medical at Birmingham ahead of a potential loan deal.
The Olympiakos frontman is on course to join the St Andrews club after Alex McLeish decided to target a new striker.
Derbyshire, 24, appears interested in a return to England and has therefore travelled from Greece.
If the ex-England Under 21 international successfully passes his medical, he is expected to sign a contract in the next few days.
McLeish reiterated after his side's 2-2 draw at Sunderland in Saturday's Premier League season-opener that he felt his squad was short of attacking options.
With Kevin Phillips injured, the Birmingham boss has stepped up his pursuit of Derbyshire and reports suggest a loan fee has already been paid to Olympiakos.
McLeish has brought in giant Serbian Nikola Zigic this summer, but prior to the weekend he admitted defeat in his pursuit of AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele.
