Bury travel to Crewe on the back of claiming victory in the most memorable match of the League Two season so far. The Shakers defeated Gillingham 5-4 at Gigg Lane last weekend with Andy Bishop (2), Ryan Lowe (2) and Efe Sodje the men on target for the hosts.

Lowe and Sodje are both former Crewe players and, along with midfielder Steven Schumacher, they will return to Gresty Road on Saturday.

Alex boss Dario Gradi is certainly wary of facing the trio.

"I never like to come up against our former players. Bury are a good team and we know all about Ryan, Sodje and Schumacher," he told crewealex.net.

"We have had them watched last weekend and they won 5-4 and the report was very complimentary.

"They have been up there over the last couple of seasons and will expect to be contenders again."

Bury's four-match unbeaten run has seen them climb up the table and they currently sit in the final play-off place.

They have the forward options to cause any side in this division problems with both Lowe and Bishop looking like they will once again be a threat over the course of the campaign.

The arrival of winger Andy Haworth has also added some extra spark to the Shakers' attack and there is still Danny Carlton to jump off the bench if the going gets tough.

That should create a few worries for Crewe, who have enjoyed a very interesting campaign so far.

The 7-0 victory over Barnet rightly made plenty of headlines but, that result aside; it hasn't been a great start in the league for Gradi's men with only two points gleaned from their other four games.

All those matches have been against sides from outside the current top 10 in League Two so this will be the first chance for them to test themselves against a team who could be in the promotion shake-up.

Crewe lost both their games against Bury last season and the 2.90 on offer for the Shakers to make it three out of three takes our fancy for this weekend's tip.

PICK:
Bury to beat Crewe at 2.90 (at Bet365).
