Leicester have reportedly agreed a two-year contract with former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson to become Paulo Sousa's successor.

Sousa was sacked just nine games into the Championship season on Friday, with the Foxes propping up the table after six defeats and just one win.

The club announced in a statement that they "anticipated a quick appointment" - and The Mirror claims the Foxes have decided to go for Eriksson, who will take on the challenge despite also agreeing to join Arabian side Al Hilal on a one-year £1.2 million contract.

Leicester are believed to have already agreed a two-year contract with Eriksson, who is due to start work on Monday.

The Swede will have to break the news to the Saudi club that he is not coming.

The tabloid claims Leicester approached Eriksson via top agent Pini Zahavi before axeing Sousa, smoothing the way for the controversial move to go through in the next few days.
