Arsenal v Wigan
Arsenal have been in sensational form in this season's Carling Cup with big wins against Tottenham and Newcastle setting up a clash in the quarter-finals with Wigan. Latics fans will remember fondly the semi-final success over two legs against the Gunners in the 2005/06 season but the layers don't think Roberto Martinez's men will be celebrating on Tuesday night. Wigan are available at 12.00 with Betsson to bag a shock win at the Emirates Stadium and, even with Arsenal's inconsistent home form in the Premier League, they are rightly big outsiders. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger certainly doesn't have any worries about his side's record at home. "It is good to know you can win away and, at some stage at home, you know you will get things right. There is no fear about playing at home," he said after Saturday's 4-2 victory at Aston Villa. Arsenal can be backed at 1.24 with Betsson to win by four or more goals but a few disappointing results in the League and Europe provide enough of a reason to look elsewhere. The highest scoring half market provides a real tempter with the 1.88 available with Bwin for the second to come out on top. This tip would have secured a profit in all four of Arsenal's last four games, four out of five of Wigan's previous matches and both of these sides' wins in the previous round of this competition. The stats certainly support it so back the recent run of goals after the break to continue.
Verdict: Arsenal 3 Wigan 1

The pressure has lifted a little bit on West Ham boss Avram Grant after the vital 3-1 win over fellow Premier League strugglers Wigan at the weekend. Now they bid to continue a strong Carling Cup run that has seen them beat League Two outfit Oxford and Sunderland and Stoke, who both sit comfortably above them in the top-flight standings. It gets tougher for the Irons on Tuesday night with Manchester United travelling to Upton Park and Grant has already hinted the competition is not his top priority. "Because of our squad, with many players who have had two or three years of injuries, we are trying to manage them in a special way, so I don't think everybody can play on Tuesday," he said after the win over Wigan. "But we had a similar situation against Stoke and Sunderland and our squad did a very good job." One man who can expect a recall is midfielder Radoslav Kovac. Scott Parker and Valon Behrami look likely candidates for a rest after returning for the Hammers' weekend victory and Kovac, who started both the wins over Sunderland and Stoke, is likely to step in. The Czech Republic international is available at 12.00 with Bet365 to score anytime and that is worth a small wager with his midfield colleagues all available at shorter prices. United's 7-1 win over Blackburn on Saturday signalled a return to form but they will make changes for this clash, Sir Alex Ferguson replaced his entire first XI in the last round, and that will give the hosts some hope. United still look the most likely winners but they struggled to a 3-2 win over an under-strength Wolves in the previous round so it is hard to know just what to expect from the Red Devils so we will stay away from other markets.
Verdict: West Ham 1 Manchester United 2
